How You Can Help Intro
From the Dean

Cathedrals are part of our glorious heritage and continue to play an important part in society today. They are places where a wide range of people gather to worship, to celebrate and to mourn. They are amongst the few medieval buildings that are still being used daily for their original purpose. Lincoln Cathedral is the icon of the East Midlands, the focal point for all Lincolnshire, and at the very heart of the City of Lincoln itself. It welcomes the whole community through its doors: the diocese for worship, universities and colleges for graduations; schools for education and celebrations; choirs, orchestras and bands for concerts; tourists and pilgrims alike to visit; along with a whole range of special events that take place week by week. The Cathedral is the primary tourism destination in the county, bringing much to the local economy and community.

Each generation has played its part in caring for this wonderful building and supporting its work. Now it is our turn to ensure that we hand it on to future generations in good condition, continuing to do its work and prepared to last for another thousand years. Thank you for considering a contribution of funding or time to Lincoln Cathedral, and for playing a part in securing its future.
